2019 PUBG NATIONS CUP (“PNC2019”) is the first nation versus nation Battleground competition. It was held for three days between August 9th~ August 11th, 2019 where 16 different nations across 5 continents participated. Aside from host nation, Korea, other nations were Argentina and Brazil from South America; Australia from Oceania; U.S. and Canada from North America; China, Japan, Thailand, Vietnam, and Taiwan from Asia; and Finland, Germany, Russia, England, and Turkey from Europe. All available 2,000 seats at the Jangchoong Arena were sold out and it was filled with audience from various countries to cheer for their own nation, indeed proclaiming to be the Global Esports tournament. Banana Culture captivated the audience by directing each nation-focused screen in 8 different languages rather than just simply following each team engagement. This kind of the method indicated a new tournament genre arousal of Battleground esports. A whole new type of Battleground tournament was composed of several different contents: Live stats, on-site pop quizzes, real-time team voting, and other interactive contents. Opening ceremony also had perfect AR element to capture many Battleground fan.
2019 PUBG NATIONS CUP (이하 “PNC2019”)는 총 5대륙 16개국이 참가하는 최초의 배틀그라운드 국가대항전으로, 2019년 8월 9일부터 8월 11일까지 3일간 진행되었습니다. 개최국인 한국 이외에 남아메리카의 아르헨티나와 브라질, 오세아니아의 호주, 북아메리카의 미국과 캐나다, 아시아의 중국, 일본, 태국, 베트남, 대만 그리고 유럽의 핀란드, 독일, 러시아, 영국과 터키가 출전했습니다. 대회가 열린 장충체육관은 약 2,000석의 좌석이 모두 매진되었으며, 자국 선수들을 응원하기 위해 현장을 방문한 다양한 국가의 관람객이 경기를 즐기며 Global eSports의 정석을 보여줬습니다. 바나나컬쳐는 관객들의 몰입감을 제고하기 위한 방법으로 단순히 교전이 발생하는 지역을 따라가는 중계가 아닌 각 국가 별로 해당 팀 위주의 별도 화면을 제공 및 8개의 언어로 생 중계하면서 배틀그라운드 장르 eSports에 새로운 가능성을 제시했습니다. 이 밖에도 각 팀의 상황과 포인트를 실시간으로 확인할 수 있는 별도의 구성과, 화면으로 실시간 퀴즈와 투표 등 상호작용 콘텐츠를 추가하는 등 배틀그라운드 eSports만의 독창성을 확보했습니다. 또한 오프닝에서 선보였던 완성도 높은 AR 구성은 많은 팬들의 찬사를 받았습니다.
